On October 8th, the Board of Education recognized Special Education Paraprofessional Antonio "Mr. Tony" Salvador for making a difference in the lives of numerous students through his love for chess. Mr. Salvador took the initiative to create the Yucaipa-Calimesa Youth Chess Federation at Dunlap Elementary last school year. He grew the program even more while working at different summer school sites. Using his own money and newfound love for the program, Mr. Salvador had custom trophies made for his students' first tournament. Moving forward, he has requested to grow the program across the District, and we look forward to supporting him in doing so. #ycjusdallin24 #chooseycjusd
