Yucaipa-Calimesa Community, 

We are off to another school year, my eleventh in this wonderful district, and I can’t wait to witness the amazing things our kids will accomplish this year.  With every year, every graduating class, and every new kindergartner, I am without words when I interact with these incredible children our Yucaipa-Calimesa village is raising.   

Our first day of school was Thursday, August 8th, 2024, and we welcomed 8,684 students, some new and some returning for another school year. I can’t begin to express my gratitude to our families for entrusting their children’s academic journey with us. Your role in our district’s success is invaluable.  

This year, we are continuing to hone our focus on our purpose statement, “Making a Difference in the Life of Each Child.”  With the help of now YHS Alumna Ella Aceves, we received a great deal of impactful feedback directly from our students last year. This feedback will further shape how we, as a team, are committed to executing the Board of Education’s vision for student achievement, safety, and wellness.  

I would be remiss if I didn’t take the opportunity to thank our YCJUSD Team, who rededicate themselves to making a difference in the lives of each student under our care every day.  Without each and every employee, from custodians to paraprofessionals, teachers to principals, and child nutrition workers to grounds and maintenance professionals, our schools simply wouldn’t be what they are.  Our schools have never looked or felt better, and we all owe it to our amazing staff, teachers, and administrators.

Superintendent Cali Binks is a highly respected educational leader with over 30 years of experience in public education, including 15 years as a superintendent. She is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students and staff within the Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District. Superintendent Binks is also deeply committed to the wider community, actively participating in local initiatives and serving on the board of a non-profit organization she co-founded, which provides vital resources to families experiencing homelessness in the area. Her passion for education and genuine care for others make her a valued leader in the East Valley Region.

Stella Bradley brings 24 years of experience to her role supporting both the Superintendent and the Board of Education. She plays a key role in coordinating and leading the district's school secretaries, ensuring consistent and effective service to families, students, and the community. Driven by a deep love for students, Stella actively volunteers at her children's schools and seeks opportunities to be involved across the district. Her dedication strengthens the connection between the district and its schools.

Stephany Soedjak brings a wealth of experience from the hospitality industry, spanning Indonesia, New York, and Los Angeles. Her passion for helping parents and welcoming new students to Yucaipa makes her a perfect fit as the first point of contact at the District Education Center. In her free time, Stephany enjoys spending time with her family and exploring true crime stories and documentaries. Her friendly and helpful demeanor creates a positive first impression for all who visit the district office.
