Mesa View Middle School, a part of the Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District, was celebrated as a 2024 California School to Watch at the California League of Educators Celebration and Conference held in Monterey, California on March 8th and 9th.
The California Schools to Watch program honors the state's highest-performing middle schools. Supported by the California Department of Education, the California League of Educators, the California Middle Grades Alliance, and The National Forum, the program recognizes schools that exemplify best practices in middle school education.
Out of 7,172 middle schools across California, only 52 were chosen this year. Mesa View's rigorous application process and a subsequent visit from a team of middle school experts secured their place among this esteemed group.
The experts highlighted the school's positive and collaborative atmosphere, where technology is seamlessly integrated into learning, fostering student interaction within classrooms. Mesa View's extensive support system, encompassing over 20 programs and initiatives, was also recognized. These programs provide a variety of ways for students, staff, and families to connect and engage with the school community.
